Introduction

In advance of the programmed relocation of the Schools of Hospitality Management and Tourism; Culinary Arts and Food Technology; and Environmental Health and Food Science to the new Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) Grangegorman campus, the Cathal Brugha Street DIT College is offered for sale in two lots. DIT is Ireland's largest technological institute of higher education (10% of all students in Higher Education, in Ireland, study at DIT). Currently based on six campus sites in the city centre, DIT is relocating the majority of its activities to a new education and research campus in the heart of the city at Grangegorman.  The new campus will be a unique international innovation hub for the Dublin region, with education, research and health facilities co-located with industry, business incubation and community enterprise.

Cathal Brugha Street DIT comprises two properties - an original 1940’s building fronting Cathal Brugha Street, Marlborough Street and Thomas Lane (Lot 1), and a connected modern late 1990’s building fronting Marlborough Street (Lot 2).  Both properties are independently accessed, however, they are linked at ground and first floor levels via a six storey building, of which the remaining upper floors are part of the Gresham Hotel.  

Short Term Lease Back

It is the intention of DIT to enter into a short-term lease with the purchaser of the property until October 2020, terms of which are available in the Data Room.
